Our Realtor rocks. Really!

A little about about our amazing Realtor Bill Anderson!

When Bill moved to Durham over 30 years ago, the smell of fresh cut tobacco still filled the downtown air. He and his wife, Andrea, laid down roots in the Duke Park neighborhood where they raised their two children, in a home they purchased through Frank Ward, Realtors.

The home required extensive renovation, and the Duke Park neighborhood was still rough around the edges as well. Bill poured himself into attending to both. He served as neighborhood President, and later became President of the InterNeighborhood Council which helped Duke Park form its association 25 years ago. Bill's passion for restoring old houses and revitalizing neighborhoods continues today. Along the way, the press has assigned Bill many titles such as "civic crusader", but they all add up to a Durhamite who simply loves the Bull City, and does what he can to make it better.

Bill spent about a dozen years working toward creating the Center for Senior Life because he felt the senior popluation has needs that were not being adressed properly. Durham once had a serious illegal dumping problem, so Bill formed a citizen's group to prosecute offenders, and a cort to try them. Originally called the "Quality of Life Court", it still exists today as Community Court. It sees cases involving barking dogs, code violations and all the things that reduce the quality of life for Durham residents. Since criminal activity can devistate a neighborhood, Bill served as co-facilitator of a PAC2, Partners Against Crime, for four years. He is currently President of Duke Park Preservation Initiative, the non-profit that holds land to be used as walking trails and community gardens.

For all his many combined efforts, the Durham Regional Association of Realtors presented Bill the 2010 Citizenship Award.

What does all this mean to you as a home buyer or seller? It means your Realtor knows Durham with an in depth knowledge of neighborhoods, where crime is a concern, and knows how to fix what's broken in transitioning neighborhoods. He's known as the Durham Bulldog, and he enjoys going to bat for his real estate clients, just as he has for the city and its neighborhoods.

It's good to have a Bulldog on your team. Give Bill a call and see if you agree.
